During week 42, a total of 39,657 cases were reported from 16 conditions of priority. This resulted into 41 deaths due to malaria. Typhoid, Measles, Malaria, Dysentery, SARI and Animal bites were the leading causes of morbidity during this epidemiological week. Sadly, 132 babies died within one week of life and 10 mothers died while in the process of de-livery. All these are preventable deaths.

During week 52, the proportion of health facilities that reported was 81% reflecting a 28.8% increase in reporting rate in comparison to the same week in 2015. Only 14.7% (17/116) districts had 100% of their health facilities reporting and 63.8% (74/116) of the districts achieved the national target of 80%. The proportion of health facilities that reported during week 51 was 71.1% reflecting depicting a 11.6% decline in reporting rate in comparison to the same week in 2015. Only 10% (12/116) districts had 100% of their health facilities reporting and 36.2% (42/116) of the districts achieved the national target of 80%.
